Week of April 6th

Science:
We barely introduced our Structures and Forces unit before... the brake. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Study sheets for theme 1, 2, and 3 are due Friday April 10th. Many of you have already submitted a few! Good initiative! Way to show Ownership too.

Complete review questions for pages 281, 296 and 297. I will find a way to place the answers in D2L next week. Please, take the time to explore the Content section!

Online Science Tutorials:
If all goes as planed, I will be available for online Tutorials on Monday's and Thursday's from 9:00 (officially) to 9:30 (sharp!). I will post a link in D2L before the meetings. This time interferes with my grade 8 classes so I will be there 20 min. early to answer your questions. So 8:40! I'll see if this work and readjust as needed.

(No sharing of the link, no recording, post questions in the chat, no goofing around on the video feed nor on the chat, etc.)

FLA:  This week on D2L, I had asked you to review your passé composé notes and re-prepare for the quiz that we would have written the day that schools closed.  I will set this quiz up for Wednesday, April 8th, so you will be able to have access to it at that time.  You may choose to use your notes or you can give yourself the extra challenge of trying the quiz without them!  I will also give you a quick listening activity to do next week.  Look for the link and questions on D2L.

My tutorial hours for FLA 7 are Mondays from 1:30-2:00.  This will be a great opportunity for you to log in to google meet and ask me any questions, or get a quick review, in preparation for our quiz!  I will post the link to the session in D2L.  Please review the

Have a great weekend!

ELA and Social Studies
Below is my schedule for your subjects. It's might change as things come up or if I find I need more tutorial time.

Content posting: I will be giving a preview on the blog every Friday, so you can certainly get an early start if you have extra time. I will be posting instructional content (notes, videos, assignments, tasks, etc.) every Monday for Social Studies and Tuesday for ELA. The tasks for each subject will total about 2 hours and will be due the following subject instruction day (Monday or Tuesday)
Tutorial time: Currently, I will have 2 blocks of tutorial time. They are Wednesday at 1:00 to 1:30 and Friday 10:00 to 10:30. They will be done over Google Meet. There are instructions on D2L if you don't know how to access Google Meet. My meeting code will be McMorranTutorial.

Next week:

ELA: We had just started our poetry unit in ELA and I think the activities we were going to do are really well suited for online learning so we will carry on! Next week you will be exploring Onomatopoeia and writing found poems. Go to D2L if you would like to review the poetry definitions we learned in preparation for this work.

Etudes Sociales: In Social Studies next week we will continue on with Confederation. I know we just finished a big project, but after the extended break, I could certainly use a refresher on such a major event. We will be reviewing chapter 7 in the textbook (digital version on D2L) so I recommend you look that, as well as your notes from the chapter, in preparation.
