March 20

 FLA:

Hello!  I hope you are all staying safe and healthy, and finding ways to keep yourselves busy.  You are missed and we are here to support your learning from afar in any way we can.  Feel free to contact us by email if you need to!  While we wait for more details and a more concrete plan to be established, here are a few things that you can focus on in the meantime.

1. Find ways to listen to, and read, in French!  I know you submitted your silent reading books so here are some online resources that offer videos, apps, games, news articles and more!

2.  Respond to what you heard or read.  Either in writing, or verbally to a parent/sibling/friend (even if it's in English!  French is better obviously, but we will take what we can get right now!) Here are some questions to consider:  Personal response questions

ELA:

Hello, 7-2! We barely got started on our poetry unit. Sad story. Feel free to keep your novel study books. Once we know what will happen, I'll give further instructions on what to do with them!

Here are some activities to keep your ELA skills honed in the meantime:

TeenBookCloud: An online collection of eBooks, novels, graphic novels, video, and audiobooks through the Calgary Public Library (click on “Access TeenBookCloud" bottom of page)
Calgary Public Library Resources: e-books, Bookflix, music, movies, online tutoring, encyclopedias, etc. Your library card number is your email without the @educbe.ca - your PIN number is 1234567
CommonLit: Fiction and non-fiction texts for students in Grades 3-12
What's Going on in this Picture? Images from The New York Times stripped of their captions – and an invitation for students to discuss and write about.

Math
Hello students. I hope you are keeping safe and healthy.

As far as math work you can do at home. You can complete the last part of chapter six the review pages 248 -250. If you have completed that part already, you can try doing the practice test on page 251. Then check your answers at the back of the textbook.

More information should come your way after spring break. Have a nice break and explore new and different ways to spend your time. Take Care!!  😎 Mr. Soufi.

Science:

You now have also access to a Science D2L shell. Explore the different sections although it is a little sparse for now... If you decide to work on study sheet, use Google docs and share your work with me. Please, do not spend time  cutting /pasting pictures from the web! I will live without images... I will add comments to it and add marks in PowerSchool. Stay safe and away... Cheers
