If you are not happy with the mark you earned on the present tense test you must first attend a tutorial before you will be allowed to take a retest.  Tutorials will run this Monday and Wednesday and the retest will take place on Monday, October 28th during lunch.

This week we will be engaging in some reading and listening comprehension activities!  Don't forget to keep reading your independent novels at home.  We will begin book talks the first week of November!

SOCIAL STUDIES (McMorran):
This week, students watched part 1 of the CBC documentary series: Canada: the Story of Us. Next week, we will begin our new unit on European Imperialism in North America. We will be starting with a vocabulary list Monday, then do some fill in the blank sheets about Imperialism. We will likely also start our next project, which is a trading card for a famous explorer (both historical and modern).

This week we practiced using figurative language by writing poems inspired by indigenous creation poetry. We will finish next week with our visual representations to accompany the poems. Next week, we will be doing a listening activity and we will be reading and creating tableaux scenes for some additional creation myths.
