Week of October 28th

Sciences:
Study sheet for theme 6 is due on Thursday October 31st.
Remember to regularly work on your Creature presentation. Do not wait for the last minute!!!

FLA:  This week we will continue working on some reading and listening comprehension assignments.  Halloween activities and dance are on Thursday!  If you attended a tutorial last week you are able to write a retest for the present tense quiz on Monday at lunch!

ELA (McMorran):
Last week, we finished up our creation poems, and we read a few more and planned and performed some tableaux for them. Next week, we will be beginning our final project for our Myths and Legends unit, which is students creating their own animal 'creation' story. They will then take this story and prepare an oral retelling of it.

Social Studies (McMorran):
Last week, we did some front loading (super exciting notes and vocabulary sheets) for new unit: Imperialism. Additionally, students were given back their marked unit exams from the last unit and need to have them signed by Monday. This week, we will be doing a research project to create a trading card for a famous modern or historical explorer.

Math: In Math this week we continued with our unit in fractions and decimals. Students explored how to multiply decimals and how to represent multiplications using base ten blocks and drawings. We also had a quiz on the first part of the unit which included fractions and decimals, ordering and comparing fractions and decimals and adding and subtracting them. Next we will work on dividing decimals and order of operations with decimals.
