Math:
This week we continued ways to subtract integers. The class worked on examples with a numbers line and how to solve subtractions of integers (positive, negative) by changing the subtraction to an addition.  The class also did a complete unit review in preparation for our unit text. Students wrote their unit test on Thursday. Next week students will be starting the math unit on fractions, decimals and percentages. note: ( Students are assigned homework almost daily and the pages and example numbers are written on the board, students are asked to write their daily homework assignments reminders in their homework notebook.) Please read pages 84 to 88 in your text book in preparation for next week. Have a nice weekend.

This week we did presentation for our first peoples research projects. Next week, we will do some review for our first unit test on Wednesday. Included on this test will be map reading, timelines, 3QPOC, active citizenship, as well as information learned in student presentations this week.  After that, we will begin to lay some groundwork to begin our Imperialism unit.

FLA:
We have been reviewing how to conjugate verbs in the present tense, and identifying present tense verbs in the context of a story.  This week, we will practice using the present tense to develop a paragraph.  We will also begin a creative descriptive project in order to combine what we learned about adjectives and present tense verbs.
